In my mission of discovering my artistic style, it is inevitable to be inspired by artists we see from social media, art shows or our education. Throughout history the greatest artists have found themselves by finding out what they were NOT, before finding out what they WERE, passionate about and loved to paint.
I have always shamed myself for copying other artists until I realized that is what we all do until we find our style. So, this page is for me to be completely transparent about those artist I choose to study, not copy, and give credit to the progress of my journey as an artist. Below is a collection of artists I am inspired by and have helped my style evolve.
If you find yourself on this page, sincerely, thank you. Each image will have a link to the artists page if you would like to further explore their beautiful artworks. Email me if you would like to be removed, or leave me a comment if you would like to connect.
Ali Kay Studio: Artist & Teacher
Ali Kay is an artist and teacher and I came across her studio in the fall of 2025 when I signed up for her Paint More Challenge in January. She was the beginning of my artistic journey and really got me excited to paint again. She teaches  step-by-step painting courses that give you a great foundation and teaches a lot about color theory.
Liz Kohler Brown:  Pattern illustrator & Teacher
Liz taught me how to use the iPad as an illustrator. She teaches easy to follow step by step classes on how to create artwork. Her stories are inspiring and made me feel like if she can do it so can I. She has hundreds of classes on digital drawing, repeat patterns, and marketing from an artist perspective.
